Acrostic HAPPY NEW YEAR poems

Collaborative work of the 5th- and 6th- formers.

Happily the new year came
All people went outside to watch fireworks
Partying all night long
Power Hit Radio hit - "Wake Me Up"  (Click on the link to listen)
Year is over, that`s a shame

New year must be better
Estonians watch fireworks
Watching "Titanic" on TV

YOLO (means: you only live once)
Everywhere were fireworks
And they were beautiful
Rudolph the reindeer is on holiday

Written by the 6th-formers

Hello! And a Happy New Year
A year has passed
Put on your party clothes
Push the door
Your friends are waiting

Now it`s time to party
Everybody is happy
Wishes for a new year

Yeah! Let`s go out
Everywhere are fireworks
After fireworks party starts
Ring the bells

AFTER SCHOOL READING

ROALD DAHL

Roald Dahl was a British  writer, poet, fighter pilot and screenwriter.
He was born in 1916, Wales and died in 1990 at the age of seventy- four.

His books, which are read by children the world over, are:

  • James and the Giant Peach
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (maybe you`ve seen a movie? Click to watch the trailer of this movie).
  • The Magic Finger
  • The Witches
  • Matilda
  • The Twits
Students from form 6 are going to read stories of the book
THE TWITS (a twit means a stupid person).

The Twits is a extremely nasty couple who live in a brick house without windows. They live together  with a monkey family called the Muggle- Wumps who they treat badly. Mr and Mrs Twit play nasty tricks on each other mostly every day ......

Listen to part 1.

"If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier unitl it gets so ugly you can hardly bear to look at it. A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly." (R. Dahl "The Twits")

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?
