THE LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES

WHEN? The London 2012 Olympics are from July 27th to August 12th.
WHERE? The Olympics are in London and around the UK.
WHO? 17, 000 sports men and women from 205 countries are coming to London.
WHAT? There are 26 different sports at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
These figures are the mascots of the Olympics.
  • The figure on the right is called WENLOCK. His name comes form a town in England. In this town there were games - like the Olympic Games, many years ago. On Wenlock`s head you can see a taxi light with the letter "W" on it. He`s got one eye. It`s a camera. He`s wearing five bracelets with the colours of the Olympic rings. He`s made from metal.
  • The figure on the left is called MANDEVILLE. His name comes from a hospital. This hospital was the first hospital to have games for people with a disability (puudega). He`s wearing a crash helmet and a pink stopwatch. He`s made from meta, too. He`s a symbol for the Paraolympic Games (paraolümpiamängud - uuri, mis need on!).
